Privacy Policy

Overview

Pulse is an iOS interval timer for structured workouts. Your privacy is simple: your data stays on your device, no account is required, and we do not track you.

Data Stored on Your Device

The app stores the following locally on your device:

  • Workout presets (work/rest durations, rounds, sets)
  • Workout history (date, duration, preset used)
  • App settings and preferences
  • Heart-rate data received during active workouts

None of this data is transmitted to any server. It remains entirely on your device.

Advertising

Pulse displays ads via Google AdMob on certain screens. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect device identifiers and usage data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. You can remove all ads with a one-time In-App Purchase.

The app does not use App Tracking Transparency or request permission to track you across other apps and websites.

In-App Purchases

Pulse offers a non-consumable In-App Purchase to remove ads. This transaction is processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We do not receive or store any payment information.

Bluetooth

Pulse can optionally connect to a Bluetooth Low Energy heart-rate monitor. Bluetooth is used only for real-time heart-rate display during active workouts. Heart-rate data is not stored beyond the current session summary and is never transmitted externally.

What We Don't Collect

  • No analytics or usage tracking (beyond what AdMob collects)
  • No location data
  • No contacts, photos, or camera access
  • No HealthKit data
  • No user accounts or registration
  • No data is sold or shared with third parties

Permissions

The app may request the following permissions:

  • Bluetooth — Optional. Used to connect to a Bluetooth heart-rate monitor.
  • Local Network — Optional. Used for Chromecast support to display the timer on a TV.

Data Retention & Deletion

All data is stored locally on your device. To delete all data, delete the app. There is no cloud backup or sync.

Children's Privacy

Pulse is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will revise the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
